If you are planning to buy a new home or you have hired a contractor to do the construction, consider the benefits of a solar power installation. California is leading the nation with solar power in new home construction. This movement was sparked by the desires of homeowners to reduce their carbon footprint, as well as a change in energy efficiency standards legislation.

Title 24 was recently updated, and these new changes will go into effect on January 1, 2017. The goal is to increase the number of homes that are built including solar power for the homes energy needs.  A meaningful compliance credit is available for new construction properties that meet the requirements of zero energy usage during the peak hours of consumption.

It is estimated that at least 50% of new construction homes in California will have solar power systems. New regulations will go into effect in 2020 to encourage the majority of new construction homes to have solar power.

Improving the Quality of Your Home

Whether you are building a new home or you want to upgrade your current home, solar power is the way to go. Many homeowners have the desire to install a solar power system on their property, and right now is a great time to get started.

The state of California is focused on green energy, and you can join in the movement. Solar power installation is beneficial to reduce your carbon footprint. At the same time, you can decrease your monthly utility expenses. These long-term savings are helpful to make it easier to manage monthly household costs.

These efforts will have an impact on future generations. Each homeowner can do their part to make a difference in the way the earth is impacted by our daily decisions. Seemingly small choices can add up to affect the environment in a big way.
