March is often the time when homeowners put together a spring cleaning to-do list. It is the perfect opportunity to spruce up your home and be ready to enjoy the summer months.

If you are working on spring cleaning, then make sure that your bedroom is at the top of the priority list. Creating a sanctuary in your bedroom will give you a place to relax so that you are refreshed and ready for each new day.

Here are a few tips that you can use to help with spring cleaning in the master bedroom:

Go Through the Closet

Do you feel like the master bedroom closet is a mess of random things and clothes that no longer fit? Take time to sort through everything in the closet. Fill a few garbage bags with things that you are no longer using, then drop them off at the local donation center.

Move the Furniture

When was the last time you dusted and vacuumed under the bed or behind the dresser? These spots can collect dust, which can contribute to allergies and other health problems. Don’t forget to wipe down the floorboards with a soft dusting rag.

Wash the Windows

Do you have a nice view outside of your bedroom? It is hard to enjoy that view if the windows are dirty! Wash the windows, both inside and outside to brighten up the room.

Clean the Curtains and Bedding

Most people wash their sheets regularly, but they overlook cleaning the bedspread, throw pillows, and curtains. Use this opportunity to freshen the fabric. Make sure to read the tags so that you find the cleaning instructions for each item.

Deep Clean the Master Bathroom

Do you put more effort into cleaning the guest bathroom than you do in the master bathroom? Many homeowners are concerned about providing a comfortable space for guests, but they run out of time to take care of their own space. Deep clean every nook and cranny in the bathroom, including the tile, cupboards, toilet, and floorboards.
